Pierre Trudeau tops list when Canadians asked to pick the best leader since 1968. His son was named worst by three in 10 respondents
, asked Canadians to choose our best Prime Minister since 1968, a list of nine names that starts with Pierre Trudeau and ends with his son Justin Trudeau, who’s been PM since 2015.When asked to name the best Prime Minister from the list, 20 per cent of respondents picked Pierre Trudeau, followed by Stephen Harper with 17 per cent of the vote. Justin Trudeau was tied for third place with Jean Chrétien, at 11 per cent each.
Similarly, Justin Trudeau drew the highest numbers for worst PM in Alberta, where 45 per cent chose him. Even his father ranked poorly in Alberta, with just 13 per cent there naming him as best Prime Minister and 11 per cent naming him worst, twice the national average. There was also a gap between male and female respondents, with 36 per cent of men naming Justin Trudeau as worst PM, compared to just 25 per cent of women.
