That these cosplaying fans would come together to celebrate such an iconic cover is a testament to the enduring popularity of the Justice League International era. Not only did JLI gloriously subvert the dark stories that were all the rage at the time, it did so with a human touch. Maguire’s cover to Justice League International #1 announced a bold new era in the history of the League; the team was truly going global.
Justice League International Is Still Popular With Fans The Justice League International era also launched a number of second-string characters into the spotlight, and the cosplay shoot features many of them. Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, featured prominently in the shoot, first met in the League, launching one of comics’ greatest "bromances.
