If the communication between QB Dustin Crum and his receivers continues to evolve, the Ottawa Redblacks offence could be among CFL\u0027s best
Having the CFL’s best rushing attack won’t be enough on its own to make it happen. What we saw from Crum in Sunday’s 44-31 loss to the Toronto Argos was a big step ahead – less of his legs, more of his arm. Crum completed 21 of 26 passes for 292 yards, with three of the passes going for touchdowns.
Part of the problem has been the number of sacks – 38, again a league-worst – given up. But one of the fixes to that problem is having the quarterback be more decisive and have confidence his receivers will be where they’re supposed to be in any given play call.Article content “We have to continue to work, but I have a good group,” said Redblacks receivers coach Travis Moore. “Stats don’t show how the game is actually going. If we’re running the ball very well, why do we have to pass all the time? People look at the stats, they look at the touchdowns. It’s a concern for us. But, we’re also on our fourth quarterback ; there’s a chemistry when you play together.
