Public criticism of the group’s actions often comes with the caveat that the problems it is highlighting are very real. For example, after Sir Keir Starmer condemned the actions on LBC, in the rest of his interview he was pressed to enlarge on the topic by listing.
It is possible of course that the social media storm following the protests will only serve to put people off the group’s cause. For many people,in particular felt especially visceral and senseless. However, we have to question what support for the group’s cause actually looks like here.
