Police say the owner of a vacant home and two alleged trespassers got into an argument
A 48-year-old St. Joseph Township man was charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling house according to a news release from the Batchewana First Nation Police Service.
Officers responded July 1 shortly after 12:30 p.m. to a break-and-enter complaint at a residence on Tecumseh Street in the community of Batchewana First Nation. An investigation determined two people were trespassing in a vacant house and a verbal altercation took place with the owner. Once police were called, one of the individuals fled and the other remained at the scene, the release said.The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on Aug.14.
