Judge Arthur Engoron banned Donald Trump on Friday from conducting business in New York for three years after he found the former president liable for business fraud.The Context:New York Attorney General Letitia James sued Trump, his two adult sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, the Trump Organization and two firm executives, Allen Weisselberg and Jeff McConney, in September 2022. Engoron, who oversaw the civil trial, found that Trump inflated his assets to get more favorable business loans.

Views:Trump's lawyer Christopher Kise told Newsweek via email on Friday, 'The Court today ignored the law, ignored the facts, and simply signed off on the Attorney General's manifestly unjust political crusade against the front-running candidate for President of the United States.
