The judge overseeing the government’s case against former national security adviser Michael Flynn appointed a retired judge to argue against the government’s motion to dismiss the case
, and opened the door to holding Mr. Flynn in contempt of court for pleading guilty under oath twice only to later change his mind.
U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan on Wednesday appointed John Gleeson, telling him in an order to also address whether the court should consider holding Mr. Flynn in criminal contempt for perjury.
