TV journalist, 9-year-old child fatally shot in central Florida, sheriff says; suspect has been arrested
If a recent spate of mass shootings makes you think America has gone numb to gun violence, Zeneta Everhart would disagree. Her son was injured in a mass shooting in Buffalo last year, and she has since embarked on a mission to motivate citizens and their political leaders to find solutions to gun violence. A Florida television journalist and nine-year-old were fatally shot Wednesday near the scene of a fatal shooting from earlier in the day, sheriff's deputies said.
Besides the Spectrum News 13 journalist and the 9-year-old girl, a TV crewmember and the girl’s mother were wounded during the second shooting. They were in critical condition at a local hospital.
