Simon Jordan could not help but laugh at the sheer irony on display from Man United fans MUFC

The former Crystal Palace chief told Jim White: “They will not be able to have conversations about Manchester City’s ownership or Newcastle’s ownership anymore.

“If they get a wealthy Middle East-based consortium, all the vitriol that undoubtedly United fans partook in will have to be dropped.

“Those you can accept more readily than someone saying ‘I want to be involved in sport because I want to leverage a major asset of a particular country and use it as an influencer’.”The Glazers are understood to have demanded a deadline to bids for the club by the end of the month with American equity firm Raine Group hired to offer financial advice during the deal.
