He started by explaining that he's had a relationship with Taylor over the years:"I've been friends with Taylor Swift," he said."She's been so good to my daughter and my wife at concerts and I've written her notes and she's written back.""The first thing she did [at the VMAs] was thank me for the notes, acknowledging that," he added.
"There were so many people that bombarded the stage, that I was looking for her. So the video has me looking, trying to find her...I thought it was so funny the way it was interpreted.
