A recent Gallup poll found that the president's approval rating hit a new low in his eighth month in office.
's approval rating shows no sign of rebounding in the near future after a slide that has now lasted for three weeks following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan., while 53 percent now disapprove of him. That's the first time a majority of respondents in a Gallup poll have disapproved of the president.
FiveThirtyEight's analysis took into account the most recent Gallup poll, conducted between September 1 and September 17. The president's disapproval has outstripped his approval since August 30 and there is currently no indication that the trend is set to change. Gallup's poll found that Biden's approval has fallen 14 points since he took office eight months ago. That poll was conducted with a random sample of 1,005 U.S. adults and has a margin of error of 4 percent.
