Lance will miss the rest of Sunday's game after suffering a scary ankle injury.
season may have happened on Sunday. Quarterback Trey Lance was carted off the field in the first quarter of the Niners’ game against the Seattle Seahawks after taking a hit on a rushing play. Lance was quickly ruled out for the game with a right ankle injury. Backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo immediately entered in Lance’s place, finishing off a drive that ended in a field goal.Lance was hoping to bounce back from an ugly performance in Week 1 and seemed to be getting off to a strong start.
Seahawks linebacker Cody Barton and defensive lineman Bryan Mone teamed up to bring Lance down on a zone-read run. After taking a big hit, Lance stayed down on the field and was unable to get up. The 49ers training staff quickly dispatched a cart and put Lance's right leg into an air cast before lifting him onto the vehicle. Players from both teams went up to Lance and offered their support, a sign that everyone around the play thought he had suffered a serious injury.
