'Rebel Moon - Part Two' EP features original songs by Jessie Reyez, Tainy, aespa, Tokischa, TOKiMONSTA & more, inspired by Netflix movie characters.
“After being given the chance to watch the movie before it was out, it was very easy to connect the dots backwards and see myself in Kora” Reyez said in a statement in reference to the series’ main character, Kora/Arthelais, who leads fighters from across the galaxy in a battle against the oppressive Motherworld. “Personally, there’s not a lot of things I’m afraid of, but being absolutely vulnerable in love is definitely one of them.
“The artists’ rebellious personal touches on each single create a compelling sonic journey throughout the EP, curated to the film’s characters and emotions of strength, resilience, and empowerment,” the release said. “The collection of songs also features various genres representing different cultures from around the world. And similar to the warriors in, artists also have to fight for their families, their communities, a dignified future, and their art.
