Jeremy Renner is sharing an optimistic update on his MCU future five months after his terrifying snowplow accident left him hospitalized.
After months of working to recover from his terrifying accident, Jeremy Renner has an optimistic update about his Marvel Cinematic Universe future. Renner, well-known for playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the MCU, was rushed to the hospital on New Year's Day when his snowplow ran over him whilst he was trying to save his nephew from the very same machine. After two weeks of resting and surgery in the intensive care unit, Renner returned to his Nevada home and has been recovering since.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT During a recent panel at the Phoenix Fan Fusion event, Jeremy Renner was asked about his return to acting and potential MCU future. As shared by Twitter user Parks and Cons , the Hawkeye actor assured that he would be seen back on screen, as long as he's received his daughter's permission, and is open to reprising his Marvel role if they want him back.
Renner's Promising Road To Recovery Far more optimistic than many of his acclaimed roles, Renner has kept fans of his hopeful in the five months since news broke of his harrowing accident, sharing a variety of pictures and videos while in the hospital and keeping his followers updated as best he could on his evolving status.
More recently, Renner has shared a variety of photos and videos of his physical therapy to recover from the accident, including finally being able to walk without the assistance of a cane near the start of May.
While the studio have shown sensitivity with such setbacks as the death of Thunderbolt Ross actor William Hurt by recasting with Harrison Ford, it will be interesting to see if Marvel seeks to capitalize on Jeremy Renner's recovery for bringing him back in the MCU's future. Hawkeye's future has largely been unknown following the conclusion of his Disney+ show, in which he more or less passed the mantle to Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop.
