Watch JenniferHudson in the trailer for the upcoming ArethaFranklin biopic, 'Respect.' 🎬
The trailer, which debuted during the 2020 BET Awards Sunday , launches with the silhouette of the singer on stage, before the word"respect" lights up in giant capital letters behind her. The teaser then shows scenes of a young Franklin from struggling artist to legendary musician.
The film also stars Forest Whitaker, Audra McDonald, Marlon Wayans, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Kimberly Scott, Tate Donovan, Mary J. Blige, and others. The movie -- whose title comes from Franklin's massive 1967 hit song of the same name -- was directed by Liesl Tommy, and hits theaters in December.about her experience making the movie.
