Jennifer Garner wrote letters to the producers of “The Last Thing He Told Me” asking for a shot at the lead role. They must have been persuasive.
“I’d taken myself out of the game a bit — I needed to be at home and fully available,” says Garner, a devoted mom to her and ex-husband Ben Affleck’s three children. “I didn’t presume to think I was at the top of anyone’s list.” Then Garner heard that Julia Roberts left the project, and it was go time. She began dashing off letters to the producers.
