'The Pentagon's basically saying that Microsoft's cloud platform is just as good as Amazon's, or at least close enough for government work,' 'Mad Money' host Jim Cramer says.
worth as much as $10 billion through late 2029, the Pentagon announced Friday. Under the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure deal, aka JEDI, the company will build an enterprise cloud infrastructure that will support the Defense Department's business and mission operations.
"We already know Microsoft was firing on all cylinders. This JEDI contract simply confirms it," Cramer said. "It wouldn't shock me if he, or someone in his orbit, put their thumb on the scales in favor of Microsoft," Cramer said, though he says it's not a big worry for Amazon.
