Ward’s next major race will be the Olympic Marathon Trials in February.
In a media press conference before New York City, Ward said he felt stronger than ever lining up in the Big Apple. “I was happy to run with those guys for the first two-thirds of the race,” Ward said after the race. “If you swing for the fences in the early half of the race, you set yourself up for some tough miles in the end. I didn’t have much in the tank in the last few miles.”
