Japanese Students Built A Lifted Five-Door Suzuki Jimny Called 'Mountain God' | Carscoops carscoops
In order to fit an extra pair of doors, the ladder frame chassis of the Jimny was extended by 15.7 inches , the body was cut in half and custom panels were added to fill in the gaps, alongside a tiny quarter window. Since the front doors were left stock, the rear doors look rather small but they still significantly improve access to the rear seats. Thanks to the extended wheelbase, the rear passengers benefit from a healthy amount of legroom that is comparable to a large sedan.
Besides the five-door conversion which was the main focus of the project, the Jimny got several new components in order to become a “Mountain God”. These include a new suspension with a 6-inch body lift and a new set of Black Rhino Riot 17-inch beadlock wheels shod in chunky Toyo Open Country A/T tires.
