The Champions League winner waited behind to have his photo taken with Harry
A 13-year-old boy from Northamptonshire was having a "really sad" day when he travelled to Windsor Castle to collect a posthumous award for his grandad. But a surprise from Liverpool midfielder James Milner made it “extra special” after he agreed to take photos with him after the ceremony on Tuesday, March 7.
Harry and his grandmother collected the award on his behalf from Prince William at Windsor Castle. Mrs Johnson said she approached Milner, who has also played for Newcastle, Aston Villa and Manchester City, inside the royal residence. “He was absolutely over the moon.” She said Milner hung around to pose for “loads” of official photographs with Harry “which was marvellous. It was nice to know that he was a real person and it made the day extra special.”
He said he wanted to thank the star “for taking the time to take all the photos really and just waiting for the photo afterwards”. Harry supports Leicester City FC but said he mainly follows Northampton Saints rugby union club.
