Fourteen months after he forced his way off the Nets, the Barclays Center crowd seemed to revel in waving goodbye to James Harden.

Harden’s eyes widened in shock that the whistle was against him, so you can imagine his surprise when the officials went to the replay monitor and upped the call to a Flagrant 2 and automatic ejection. Harden walked up the tunnel as the noise in the arena increased, with fans waving their white towels and their hands.
O’Neal was tightly defending Harden, who dropped his shoulder into O’Neal’s chest and his elbow appeared to collide with O’Neal’s groin.Harden was the first of the Nets’ failed “Big Three” to go, when he forced his way to the 76ers in a trade that brought back Ben Simmons, Seth Curry and Andre Drummond – none of whom played for in this game – as well as two first-round draft picks.
