IU coach Mike Woodson will not be on the sideline for Wednesday's game at Minnesota, as he recovers from COVID.

Indiana’s coaching staff will manage the game from the sideline. Associate head coach Yasir Rosemond will handle postgame media responsibilities, as he had the scout for Minnesota.

This marks Indiana’s first COVID-related absence in two seasons. Protocols only require players, coaches and essential staff to test for COVID if they are symptomatic. IU’s announcement did not disclose any further expected absences. While the Hoosiers will have an empty seat on the bench, Minnesota will be short-handed on the court Wednesday night. Per multiple reports, both Dawson Garcia and Pharrel Payne will miss the only regular-season meeting between IU and Minnesota due to injury. Garcia is the Gophers’ leading scorer and rebounder , while Payne is a 6-9 reserve forward who averages 7.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
