David Sheppard was assaulted in his Glace Bay home on Jan. 18, 2021 and died in Halifax from severe head trauma nine days later. FACEBOOK IMAGESYDNEY — Sandra Sheppard misses her brother’s smile and although a resolution to the 2021 homicide case can never bring him back, it would at least answer the question of who caused his death and why.“It’s not like TV — it doesn’t get solved in an hour. … I don’t have any idea who would do it.

Sheppard was taken to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital by EHS and later transferred to a hospital in Halifax by Life Flight for treatment of head injuries.Following an autopsy, the medical examiner ruled his death was a homicide. Police have submitted a request to the provincial Department of Justice to have the case added to the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program.

She said her brother was the baby of the family and his death shattered her mother's heart. She died a little over a year later.“There’s nothing I can do about it. Whoever said that has to go to the police and say it,” she said.
