An Israeli woman cooked for Hamas terrorists as she awaited rescue, according to reports.Rachel Edri and her husband David were being held captive inside their home in Ofakim, about 25 kilometres from Gaza.The couple had been holed up for 20 hours but managed to stay alive due to Rachel’s quick thinking.
“I said, ‘I’ll teach you Hebrew and you’ll teach me Arabic,’” she told the local outlet. “I understood that it was a matter of life and death.”The police officer entered his parents’ home armed with a pistol when he saw his mother being held by one of the terrorists.She held up five fingers over her face to indicate to her son that there were five hostage-takers in the home.
“Instead of killing us, the terrorists ran to various locations and hid until they were shot at,” Rachel said. “I want to thank the police. They are our heroes.” The weekend sneak attack launched by Hamas has prompted a war that has already claimed at least 2,200 lives on both sides, and is only expected to escalate.
