Israeli police raided Jerusalem's Haram al-Sharif compound last night to remove Palestinians who had barricaded themselves inside the al-Aqsa Mosque. Officers used stun grenades and beat some worshipers. Hundreds were arrested.
Israeli far-right activists recently announced they would try to conduct a sacrifice offering during a ritual at the compound on Wednesday.
Hundreds of Palestinians gathered Tuesday night to spend the night inside the al-Aqsa Mosque, saying they were protecting it from the far-right Israeli activists.
