British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak sacked a member of the United Kingdom's Parliament after the man urged him to demand a"permanent" between Israel and Hamas.

Conservative MP Paul Bristow was dismissed as a parliamentary private secretary at the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology on Monday after he sent a letter to Sunak urging a ceasefire to “save lives and allow for a continued column of humanitarian aid reach the people who need it the most.”While Hamas has continued to send missiles into Israel after its Oct.

Paul Bristow, a parliamentary private secretary, wrote to Rishi Sunak urging a “permanent” end to hostilitieshttps://t.co/auU9Jv2JMbHowever, leaders around the world have called for a ceasefire nonetheless, as thousands of Palestinians have been killed on top of the 1,400 or so Israelis killed in the Oct. 7 attack. Sunak and President Joe Biden have not been among them, with Sunak calling for humanitarian"pauses" in the conflict instead.

Bristow is the MP for Peterborough, in eastern England, where the Muslim population is nearly double the country's average. According to the 2021 census, it has a Muslim population of 12.2%, compared with the overall British population identifying as Muslim at 6.5%, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib , one of Washington's biggest defenders of Gaza, has faced calls for her censure over her comments on Israel. Outside of politics, the conflict in the Middle East has taken over college campuses, with students and faculty alike opposed over who is in the right and what is humane to do.
