The attack did not occur on embassy grounds and an investigation has been launched, according to the statement.No further information about the victim's identity or that of their attacker is known at this time.The attack came as Israel marked the seventh day since Hamas militants launched an attack on Israeli communities from the Gaza Strip. Israel has been carrying out a bombardment of Gaza in response and has ordered the evacuation of some 1 million Gazans from the enclave.
