The Israeli military said its airstrikes in Gaza killed a Hamas commander who led one of last weekend’s massacres of civilians. The region is bracing for Israeli forces to launch a ground offensive.
The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East said his organization is no longer able to provide humanitarian assistance in Gaza as the enclave runs out of water and electricity.
'There is not one drop of water, not one grain of wheat, not a litre of fuel that has been allowed into the Gaza Strip for the last eight days,' Philippe Lazzarini said in a speech in East Jerusalem on Sunday. 'In fact, Gaza is being strangled and it seems that the world right now has lost its humanity.'
