A new study has found which states are the best for retirement as of 2023.
Researchers at WalletHub recently published a studyTo do this, they first established three key dimensions: “Affordability” “Quality of Life;” and “Health Care.” Relevant metrics such as “General Tax-Friendliness,” “Access to Public Transportation,” and “Share of Population Aged 65 and Older” were then factored in for final results.
Said final results placed Pennsylvania in the 14th overall ranking, and third when simply looking at the “Quality of Life” category.get listed as one of the worst states for taxpayers in the study. Nevertheless, number 14 is way better than the bottom five states: New York , Oklahoma , Mississippi , New Jersey and Kentucky .
“Planning for retirement is often complex, involving both financial and psychological considerations,” explains Alan Castel, Ph.D. and professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. “Sometimes people think certain things will make them happy in retirement, only to find out they miss things from their job or social community before retirement.
