Daryl Isn't Helping Laurent - He's Putting The Child In Danger The plot of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon focuses on Daryl trying to return to America, and helping a young boy named Laurent travel across France is the best way to do so. While he may have good intentions, Daryl hasn't shown a large amount of interest in Laurent, nor does he help much in terms of protection.
Isabelle Has Proved She Doesn't Need Daryl To Protect Her Even if she asked for his help, Isabelle clearly doesn't need Daryl to protect her, or Laurent for that matter. Isabelle is far more familiar with France and its people than Daryl, meaning at least verbally, she is the more capable of the two. She might not be quite as good in combat situations, yet she has shown so far that she is still able to hold her own and take care of walkers.
