Police arrested an Essex County man in connection to a hit-and-run that left a young pedestrian with serious injuries, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said.
Odaniel Exima, 54, of Irvington, was identified as the alleged driver and charged with knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injuries and endangering an injured victim, prosecutors said. Police responded to the 1100 block of Grove Street in Irvington on Saturday at 9:47 a.m. after a report of a hit-and-run, officials said. Officers located a 13-year-old boy who was suffering from injuries due to being struck by a vehicle, authorities said.The Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with information about the incident to call its tip line at 1-877-847-7432.
