Calls are being made for action to stop “irresponsible” drivers from causing safety concerns near a Glasgow primary school.
David Murdoch, from the fire service, said while they haven’t faced “significant” obstruction, he would encourage the public to “keep access routes clear”.Describing the parking as “irresponsible”, she added: “We need to get bollards, yellow lines and clear markings installed as a matter of urgency for the safety of everyone.”
“So when the fire engines are coming in and out they’ve got a clear turning circle,” he added. “But also to make that safer for the kids that are attending school.” “As a result of this, parents dropping off or collecting children are unable to use the turning area. The parked cars are causing an obstruction and ongoing road safety concerns for teachers and parents.
