Explosions hit an Iranian tanker near the Saudi Arabian port of Jeddah on Friday, sending oil prices higher
amid already heightened concerns over the security of oil infrastructure in the Middle East.
The National Iranian Tanker Co. told the official IRNA news agency that the oil tanker Sabit was 60 miles off the coast of Saudi Arabia when it was likely hit by missiles that damaged the vessel’s main tanks. The ship’s crew were unharmed, the news agency said.
