If you're wondering why we're getting a 'point one' beta release instead of the anticipated iOS 13.4, it's because there's a major bug in iOS 13.3!
Except, obviously that wasn't the case with iOS 13.3.
The lesson here is two-fold. First, Apple needs to be a little more forthcoming on what they're working on so that beta testers can focus their attention on the new things. Having to guess at what development is doing leaves us at a disadvantage and makes us not much better than guinea pigs. Second, report any bugs you find! I imagine if someone had reported this bug before the iOS 13.3 launch, we'd be looking at iOS 13.4 right now instead of this supplemental release.Point releases are usually so minor that they don't even get beta tested, just pushed out to the public to fix some bug that crosses the threshold to"major inconvenience" or"security risk." The fact that they're running iOS 13.3.
I usually wouldn't expect this beta to stick around for long. But with the holiday season giving us a one-two punch next week and the week after, we could be looking at three weeks of testing with a release early in 2020.Either way, I'll be here! Whatever you celebrate, have a happy holiday season!
