Much of interior Northern California is baking, with scorching temperatures pushing as high as 113 degrees.
An excessive heat warning is in effect for a large swath of interior NorCal, stretching from the northern Sacramento Valley to the Oregon border, through 9 p.m. Friday.
"We're expecting highs from 110 degrees to 113," said Del Valle-Shoemaker."Redding is expected to hit 113 and Red Bluff 109. The Sacramento area will be a bitt cooler due to the Delta breeze, but will still be hot and in the upper 90s." Temperatures are forecast to cool slightly on Saturday, but temperatures over the northern Sacramento Valley will remain hot with highs from about 100 degrees to about 107, Del Valle-Shoemaker said.
The heat is also hitting the northern Sierra Nevada, including the Tahoe Basin. South Lake Tahoe hit a high ofDrizzle being reported once again this morning, most widespread along the San Francisco Peninsula, San Francisco and into the East Bay Hills. 3-hour precipitation totals as of 4 AM PDT Friday generally showing a few hundredths of an inch.
