A 6,500\u002Dsquare\u002Dfoot penthouse at Fairmont Pacific Rim has sold for $19.3 million, the most expensive condo sale on MLS in almost a decade.
Subjects have been removed on the sale, which is expected to close soon, said Kai.
She said the real estate market’s strong performance during the pandemic when foreigners weren’t flying in to buy properties indicates that the market is being driven mostly by local buyers. The penthouse has been listed on MLS with Kai for 100 days, although it had been on the market before that. It sold in a multiple-offer scenario, said Kai, as there was another offer for the property at the same time. Given the slowdown in the real estate market, the sale was “pretty spectacular because there’s a lot of negativity in the market,” she said.Article content
The Fairmont Pacific Rim’s claim on housing the city’s two most expensive condos, however, is being challenged. Three other luxury apartments currently listed on MLS top $19 million.Article content
