Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Peña, two key Astros bats sidelined of late, are progressing...
for a second consecutive year. Alvarez said Tuesday that he plans to attend the All-Star Game in Seattle even though he won’t play, and that when he returns the Astros will discuss sending him on a minor-league rehab assignment.
Peña was out of the lineup for a fifth straight game Tuesday against the Rockies after he missed the Astros’ entire series in Arlington. After Peña took some swings against Urquidy, he hit and fielded balls on the field as normal. Astros manager Dusty Baker said Peña will play Wednesday against the Rockies and that he wanted to give the shortstop an extra day to get his legs back under him.
