Beedie Group is applying to have a site in the 5500\u002Dblock of 268th Street through 276th Street rezoned for industrial use.
Habitat fishery officers went out to West Creek early this week, partly in response to concerns that the Township of Langley was removing beaver dams and lowering water levels in the area.
While the area is still seeing lingering effects of an unusually dry autumn, water levels should rebound due to spring rains and the lifting of the water table as snow melts upland, said Demsky. Resident Lynda Lightfoot, who has lived next to the site for nearly two decades, said regular flood mitigation tactics have never been carried out like this.
“There is definitely a concern about the potential coincidence of these happening so closely together,” said Pandolfo.Article content
