Pitched First Nations hydrogen pipeline has potential for Alberta, but details still thin: experts
The corridor plans call for the use of Indigenous-designed approaches and will be owned and operated by the coalition, with pipeline construction scheduled to take between five and six years.
Fellows said constructing the pipeline’s terminals would also be “a pretty significant capital allocation” that would likely only be funded if consistent demand for hydrogen is guaranteed.Alberta government officials did not receive an advanced notice of the plan, and are awaiting more details but say the province generally supports the corridor project.Permits would also have to be secured in a similar process to those needed to build fossil fuel pipelines.
