WILLIAMSPORT – A Clinton County man has been accused of smuggling six firearm silencers into the country in 2020 and 2021.
He had been indicted last May on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. The five smuggling counts allege the use of false invoices, manifests and other documents to have the silencers shipped from China to his residence on Dec. 16, 18 and 23 in 2020 and Feb. 6 and March 2 in 2021. There were two silencers in the last shipment.It accuses him of possessing a 12-guage shotgun and the following ammunition: 999 rounds of 5.56, 375 rounds of 12-gauge, 1,031 rounds of 9mm, 69 rounds of .38 caliber, 30 rounds of .40 caliber, 815 rounds of .
