That’s why the ongoing, long-term efforts to protect our city from flooding must continue to be a public works priority for Dallas. Last week, the Army Corps of Engineers gave its on construction of the Dallas Floodway Levee System and its planned extension at Dallas City Hall’s transportation committee.The city has been working with the Corps since 1948 on flood control efforts, but in 2019, officials signed an agreement authorizing the Corps to work on projects near the Trinity River included in the federal bipartisan budget act of 2018.
