Meet Nomasei, an affordable, sustainably-minded D2C shoe collection with a focus on luxury-quality accessories.

As we near the end of the decade, it’s clear that the last 10 years have birthed a great big giant brand boom. New fashion labels seem to launch monthly, and they’re selling specific, almost thematic items like ’90s-inspired slip dresses, handmade pouf-sleeve tops, and sleek,-approved mules. Instagram is a wild west of niche direct-to-consumer labels offering price-conscious clothes and accessories to Millennial and Gen-Z consumers.

Launched this year by Paule Tenaillon and Marine Braquet, the Nomasei offering includes boots, sandals, mules, and loafers in neutral, earthy colors like tan, black, burgundy, hunter green, and buttery orange. They also sell a small collection of necklaces featuring a hand motif, which represents the meaning behind the name.

The designers came up with the idea for Nomasei while working together at Chloé in Paris, Tenaillon as head footwear designer and Braquet as a member of the product development team. Between the two of them, they’ve held positions at Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, and Jil Sander.
