Quinte West OPP laid charges two separate impaired driving investigations on Saturday.
Around 4:00 p.m., officers were parked on Queen Street, Trenton in their police vehicle. Officers observed a driver pull over and exit their vehicle showing signs of impairment.Kurt Gimpel, 71 years old from Trenton, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80.
Then, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Quinte West OPP detachment parking lot for a motorist who wanted to re-assure his passenger that he was legally able to drive. An investigation led to the driver being arrested. Thirty-five-year-old Justin Ferguson of Trenton, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80.
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 6.
