At 11:45 p.m. on Monday, the RNC was called to a possible impaired driver in the west end of St. John’s.
A female had called police and reported that a male driver had struck her vehicle and continued to drive away on a flat tire. RNC located the damaged vehicle and driver a short distance away. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. The male provided breath samples which resulted in a blood alcohol level 3.5 times the legal limit.
The 48-year-old male was charged with impaired driving, driving over .80, driving while suspended and failure to stop at an accident scene.
