What’s better than a bloody Mary or an ice cold beer at The Ramp on a rare, hot sunny weekend morning before a San Francisco Giants game? Or learning how to salsa dance on Saturday evenings overlooking the waterfront from the iconic restaurants’ patio with lively timbales in your ears as hips groove to the steady beats of a conga percussionist?The Port of San Francisco and Arvind Patel, owner of The Ramp and the adjacent San Francisco Boatworks at 835-855 Terry A. Francois Blvd.
According to the port, Patel has not paid rent since March 2020. The port also claims that there have been too many noise complaints and an unauthorized renovation of the restaurant, for which Patel actually has retroactive permits of the refurbishment work. The port did offer rent relief to many businesses, but is now collecting money as businesses have mostly returned to normal as of late.
Patel has proposed a partial payment plan with intentions to negotiate a new deal because he does not deny that he owes money. Patel’s businesses, though, both lost money during the pandemic.
