Ease students’ anxiety and make a strong first impression with these tips for starting off the school year right.
1. Write an introductory letter to the student before the start of the school year. Tell them a bit about yourself and how eager you are to have them in your class.so you know them better before the year gets under way. Invite the student to include a photo, then hang everyone’s photos in the classroom. Alternatively, you can snap photos of your students on the first day of school.
3. Send a survey to the child prior to the start of the school year, asking them about their favorite foods, TV shows, games, videos, school subjects, and so on. This information can seed a book for each student that you will help them to create.
