It's only available for a limited time
Supermarket giant Sainsbury's have now joined the growing list of retailers to sell the super-popular hydration drink known as Prime. Created by YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI back in 2022, the drink took Britain by storm when it came to our shores.
Getting your hands on one was nigh on impossible in the first few months it was available. Demand rose so high that some independent retailers were selling them for as much as £8.50 in Manchester with even higher prices on sites like eBay.The drink comes in a variety of flavours, including Blue Raspberry, Grape, Ice Pop, Lemon Lime, Meta Moon, Orange, Strawberry Watermelon and Tropical Punch.
Sainsbury's confirmed it would be stocking four of those , as well as the KSI Limited Edition Orange & Mango which is only available in the UK for a limited time. The new flavour will set shoppers back £2.50. Earlier this month KSI confirmed his own version of the drink by tweeting: "Just for the record, the KSI Prime bottle is limited edition. So once we allocate it to retailers, that’s it. We won’t be making anymore.”I am on record as not being particularly fond of what Prime had to offer the first time around. They tasted too much like your standard energy drink packed with flavourings and this is very much more of the same.
Prime have done a lot to distance themselves from being classed as an energy drink, but their cause would be helped if they didn't wear their influences on their sleeves. The limited edition hydration drink reminds me of Lucozade Sports Orange but it does stand out from the pack in being the tastiest out of the lemon lime, blue raspberry, tropical punch and ice pop flavours.
