Nicola Sturgeon is facing “big questions” over what she knew about the subject of the police investigation that led to her husband’s arrest, her political opponents have said ChrisGreenNews reports:
The former first minister announced her intention to resign exactly seven weeks before Police Scotland officers searched the house she shares with former SNP chief executive,She has repeatedly refused to comment on the ongoing police investigation into the party’s finances.that the possibility of she or her husband being questioned by police did not play a role in her decision to stand down as Scotland’s longest-serving first minister.
Since officially tendering her resignation to the King last week, Ms Sturgeon has left the Scottish Government and has returned to the backbenches at Holyrood as an MSP. Scottish Labour leader, Anas Sarwar, said on Wednesday that both the former first minister and her successor,“It’s a really serious situation and the police need to be allowed to do their job and complete the investigation,” he said.
