A man believed to be in his 40s was shot and killed by police officers in southern Utah on Monday, and a police dog was stabbed and critically wounded.
A man was shot and killed by Hurricane City police on Monday.
The suspect drove away and police followed, but officers ended their pursuit “within one minute due to safety concerns.” However, the suspect was seen “driving very slowly and erratically” near 700 West State Street, making “numerous abrupt u-turns,” according to police. The man collided with a passing car, and his damaged vehicle went off the road came to a stop. He was no longer in it when police arrived.
Hurricane police provided no information about what happened inside the home leading up to the shooting. However, a police dog was taken to Las Vegas in critical condition to be treated for its wounds after it was “stabbed in the neck.”
