The first-ever Golden Games hosted by Special Olympics Chicago and the Chicago Park District is taking place this week across the city.
They are all part of the first-ever Golden Games hosted by Special Olympics Chicago and the Chicago Park District.
Tuesday marked the second day of a three-day event. It was held at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park. Roughly 150 Special Olympics athletes from 22 different park district locations around the city competed in the events. Among the different sports at the games are track and field, basketball skills, softball skills, and bocce ball."It's good to see things and I get to participate with other people and do sports. It's not on a national level or, you know, high school or college but it's a level. These guys, our coaches, we played pretty good," Wade said.
